**Thanks
Michelle for following my blog!
Though I couldn't tell you what this worm/caterpillar is called, I found what was eating on my broccoli. I pulled two of these guys off last night, and a few eggs. This morning I went back out to find about 8 more of these guys, and a few more eggs.
Damage up close
More damage
More eggs
Culprits caught red handed (or green?)
Death row.
Wow, you found a lot of them!
ReplyDeleteThose guys get into my lettuce leaves which means I have to inspect the lettuce very closely if I don't want them to end up in my plate
I did find a lot, considering I only have two plants! :(
ReplyDeleteI sure hope they don't find my lettuce, which happens to be growing right next to it... :( I guess I'll be checking that now too!
Do you have any tips on how to get rid of them, besides the hand picking deal?
Unfortunately, I had a few of these guys on my broccoli, cauliflower and kale as well. I suspect they are from those white little butterflies that we used to chase around as kids. Now I can't stand the sight of them!
ReplyDeleteThe birds seem to be doing a good job of keeping their numbers in check. However, I've still managed to swish a few myself.
im trying white vinegar in windex......
